Today, we are here to explore the newly launched Moto G4 plus. So coming from Motorola finally a phone whose camera quality is really better along with the trending fingerprint sensor, Moto tries to lure the market using its impeccable and stylish design.
Design:-
When it comes to design Motorola phones always gives you a stylish and a cool look, if we compare Moto G4 Plus, Lenovo Vibe K4 Note and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, then we can concur the result as Moto has been the lightest among all. The screen size feels larger and that’s because it has been now increased to 5.5 inches full HD TFT display and thanks to moto for that, above it is the earpiece and the sensors, the earpiece also serves as the phone’s loudspeaker. The phone has been now equipped with the fingerprint sensor and can recognize your prints at a good accuracy rate than many from different angles. Unlike many phones, the sensor is at the bottom of the screen while many brands got their fingerprint sensors just below their Camera. To the left-hand side of the sensor is your microphone which you already know, why is it used for. The Gorilla Corning Glass is there for your screen protection. On the top of the head is the 3.5 mm jack while at the bottom is the USB port for charging and connection purpose. Both the lock and the volume keys are on the same side i.e. to the right. The back side of the phone is little raised and that’s because of the camera which comes with dual tone flash and along with laser autofocus system. Below that is the Moto logo, the back cover of the phone is removable but the battery can’t be removed. There are two Nano-sim slots along with a micro-SD slot.
Positives:-
Negatives:-
Display:-
The Display is spectacular: it provides good contrast, brightness and legitimate in sunlight too. It has two modes namely the normal and the vibrant color mode. The brightness is not too low like in the lowest setting brightness like many people like using their phones at night in dull brightness. Wish they could have fixed this thing.
Positives:-
Negatives:-
Can’t be set to too low brightness for night purpose.
OS and Performance:-
The Moto G4 plus comes with a quad-core processor with Marshmallow 6.0.1 installed on it. The app orientation is simply good like always. They have even now provided a file manager and have a new camera app and quick touch controls for both the camera and the flash.
The phone has two variants: 16GB and 32 GB, 32 GB with 3 GB of RAM, the chipset used is Qualcomm Snapdragon. The modem in the previous editions like in Moto-Turbo is now updated, which worked really smooth for me in this price limit, and only a few glitches were found, however the touch was swift and the games run was really fun. It is quite a smart, promising phone.
Positives:-
Camera:- Samples:-
The new Moto G4 Plus comes with 16 MP rear with aperture 2.0 and front as 5 MP with aperture size 2.2. The phone is now equipped with phase detection, laser autofocus, and dual-tone flash. The Image quality of the Camera is quite good as it is not found in other Moto series phones and in the earlier versions too. Although, its focus is not as good as we expect. Overall, I will rate the image quality as 7/10.
On the other hand, the video quality can’t be said amazing but it is good enough. For this price range, it is quite good and even not in the high amount of brightness it can record a decent quality of video with the help of HDR quality. There is no inbuilt photo viewer and this is one the things that can annoy a lot of users. The video quality of the camera is 1080p with 30 fps.
Positives:-
Negatives:-
Battery:-
The phone carries a non-removable Li-ion 3000 mAh Battery. This is one of the things that might be quite disappointing, though 3000mAh works fine for most of us, but 3500 would have been great. The charger along with the phone is a turbo charger and can charge in around one and close to half hour you can say which is quite good but the cable is permanent
and you don’t get any USB cables along with the phone.
Positives:-
Overall:-
For the price range, the Moto G4 plus is a good phone costing you around 15,000INR currently (at the time of review) coming in black and white as color variants. The camera quality along with its sensors and the performance is what you can say as great. Extendable up to 256GB of storage, and newly running Marshmallow is what makes the phone better. However there is one more phone on basis of overall comparison that ranks ahead of this: Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
