SPORTS BOARD OF ANNA UNIVERSITY TRICHY

This is a brief post about the SPORTS BOARD OF ANNA UNIVERSITY TRICHY. 

The Sports Board of Anna University of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, carries out all sports related activities of 82 affiliated colleges in addition with university main campus and all the constitute colleges of our university.The University Sports Board also extends financial support to conduct,organize and participate in Zonal and Inter-zonal tournament to affiliated colleges.

 Dr.J.Raja, is the Board Chairman of the Sports Board.It is notable that DR. J RAJA is the  Registrar of AUT-T , Deputy Director of Physical Education as Board Secretary also associate with two Assistant Director of Physical Education coordinates the Zonal / Inter Zonal Tournaments and participation like South zone / All India Inter University Tournaments. Ably assisted by 8 staff members, the Department monitors the conduct of tournaments and also selection process for the Inter- university sports activities.

So far 18 Zonal Tournament in each of the 36 Inter zonal and 4 zonal tournaments have been organized at various venue by the SPORTS BOARD OF ANNA UNIVERSITY TRICHY.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE SPORTS BOARD OF ANNA UNIVERSITY:

• The University football men team has secured 4th place in south zone inter- university tournaments held at VIT University, Vellore and qualified to participate in All India Inter University Football tournaments held at RDV University Jabalpur, Rajasthan.
• Secured Bronze medal in All India Inter University (200 mts sprint) men Cycling event held at GND University, Amistrar.
• Secured Silver medal in All India Inter University men power lifting event (above 125Kg category) held at Kannur University, Kannur.
• 2 teams from various disciplines have participated in South Zone / South West Zone / All India Inter- University tournament held in various universities across India.
• Secured Bronze medal in All India Inter University men Weight lifting event (56Kg category) held at Kannur University, Kannur.
• The University Fencing women team has secured Bronze medal in EPEE event at All India Inter University Fencing championship held at Jammu University, Jammu.
