About St Joseph's College Trichy:
St.Joseph's College is an affiliated First Grade College of the Bharathidasan University. It was established in 1844 by the Fathers of Society of Jesus (The Jesuits). It was affiliated to the then Madras University in 1869. The College celebrated its centenary in 1944, sesquicentennial in 1995 and acquired the Five Star status, awarded by NAAC in 2000. It was recognished by UGC as a College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) in 2004 and was Re accredited by NAAC with A+ Grade in 2006.
History Of St Joseph's College Trichy:
St. Joseph's College was founded at the town of Nagapattinam in 1844. Then it got affiliated to the University of Madras in 1866 and got subsequently transferred to Tiruchirapalli in the year 1883. It celebrated it's Centenary Year in 1945. In 1978, Autonomy was conferred to the college and it earned affiliation to Bharathidasan University 4 years afterwards. In 2006, the college was nationally re-accredited
